The Second Time Around
What Curing Eating Disorders Taught Me About Healing Complex Trauma
The Power of Healing Attachments
“We, the therapists, need to be the keeper of HOPE – until our clients can feel hope within themselves.”
Somewhere, you and I have connected in this wonderful world of psychology.
And most importantly, in the space of desiring to help others to heal themselves, while additionally growing and expanding emotionally, interpersonally and within your wonderful relationship with Self.
Throughout my newsletters, I share my unique perspectives on the reparative and healing process and I hope to encourage you, inspire you, and guide you as you continue your process of creatively and deeply, FULLY healing those who have gifted you with the privilege of their emotional trust and care.

Meaningful Moments
An intimate, powerful and multilayered update from Dr. Julie….
Experience a snippet from her inaugural newsletter:
For the past three months, I have been trying to launch this newsletter. The meticulous writer in me has started, overworked, restarted and then abandoned no less than 10 copies of three separate essays. “Don’t let perfection be the enemy of the good.” my prolific husband reminds me. Yes, I agree. But is it my perfectionism, or my passion, that has gotten in my way?
I think it’s my passion.
You see, I LOVE what I do. I FEEL what I do. I LIVE what I do. And, I BELIEVE in what I do.
The Soul of
Psychotherapy
This section is about the incredible power of our ability to heal whatever wounds are being presented to us within the soul, the psyche of the client in front of you.
Savor these meaningful musings from her inaugural newsletter:
Do you feel it’s possible for the Psyche to heal? FULLY heal?
If so, what creates healing, for you?
Do you have a personal “roadmap” that directs your therapeutic conceptualizations, interventions and approach?
Attached to Food:
KNOW MORE
Our relationship with food is never simple, nor is it simply about food. Especially, if your relationship with food is disordered.
Yet, the eating disorder field continues to take a relatively simple approach to treatment.
A uni-dimensional, cognitive behavioral approach. Which is simply 50% effective.
This section of my newsletter is dedicated to sharing what I have found to be a more effective, multi-dimensional approach to the comprehensive understanding, conceptualization and FULL recovery treatment of our relationship with food.
Which is actually complex, and best described as an interwoven relationship between your body, your emotions, and your Self. Especially when impacted by a history of complex trauma.
What I'm loving & my recent journeys
As I move through this magical life which has gifted me with so many meaningful journeys including: travel, connection, and an invitation to touch and influence so many people in far away and diverse cultures, I pinch my Self often. And then, I breathe in the grandeur and the meaning within every surreal moment I find my Self embracing.
